Our names are Erzsébet and Csaba Zefer and we are parents in the Santa Cruz house at the Caminul Felix Foundation. I met my wife Erzsébet in the local church, the church we both attended since childhood and in which we are currently ministering as well. My wife studied Social Work at University, and after the Electrotechnics Bachelor studies, I graduated in Theology.
This is how I came to understand that the Lord was calling us to minister to the people. This is what we had been preparing for, although we did not know exactly where that would happen. After we married in 1999, we continued to pray for God’s divine guidance, with the desire to be in the right ministry and in the right place.
Since 1998 I have worked in the administrative department of Caminul Felix Foundation, so I had the opportunity to know this ministry closely. After the Lord blessed us with our first girl, we were repeatedly invited to become parents at Caminul Felix, and we realized that the Lord wanted to see us in this ministry.
In 2001, after my wife finished her studies, we moved into the Santa Cruz house. I saw the house while it was being built, but I never thought that I would one day live in it.
We were blessed with six more children the very first week spent at Caminul Felix. The challenge was a great one, even though the house was only half full. In the following months we continued to be blessed with other little children; at one point we had five children who needed diaper changing. We now have thirteen children with ages ranging from three months to eighteen-years-old–seven girls and six boys, three of which are our biological daughters.
As in every family, in the course of time we shared moments of joy and challenges, but in the difficult moments we are encouraged every time we look at the verse on the plaque mounted by the builders on the front wall of our house: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11)
We are aware that the Lord is using many people so that this ministry carries on. We, all the people involved in this ministry, are responsible to give our best so that God’s
thoughts concerning these children, these precious lives, may become a reality. It is not by chance that so many people with different professions are involved in Caminul Felix ministry. We believe that the people, the circumstances and all the things in this universe are working together according to God’s will so that the ones that had too much suffering, by arriving at Caminul Felix, may have peace, a future and a hope.
We kindly ask you to continue praying for our family and for the whole Caminul Felix ministry, so that we may offer a warm atmosphere to all the children who do not have this in their biological families. We want to continue our ministry and fulfil our calling as trustworthy servants, being faithful until the end in what we have been entrusted.
